Christine
M. Jalbert is an associate Attorney at Burr & Smith, LLP. She
received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University
in 1997 (concentrating in American civilization with a focus
on discrimination), and graduated cum laude from
Stetson University College of Law in 2004. She also studied
international human rights law abroad at Oxford University.
At Stetson, Christine was a national moot court finalist and
competed nationally and internationally on the Civil Rights
and International Commercial Arbitration moot court teams.
She was Vice President of Equal Justice Works at Stetson,
and named a Collegiate All-American Scholar and Who’s Who
Among Students in American Universities.
Christine
has significant experience representing plaintiffs in
employment discrimination cases under state and federal law,
including Title VII, the ADA and ADEA. She also has
experience representing clients in state and federal civil
appeals before the Second District and the Eleventh Circuit
Courts of Appeals. She prevailed and received a published
opinion (Galvez v. Bruce, 522 F.3d 1238 (11th Cir.
2008)) in a Fourth Amendment excessive force appeal before
the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Christine
has been a member of the Pinellas County Trial Lawyers
Association, the Barney Masterson Inn of Court, and the
Appellate Section of the St. Petersburg Bar. She has
presented on the topic of ‘preservation of error for
appeals’ in a continuing legal education seminar sponsored
by the St. Petersburg Bar, as well as before the Pinellas
County Trial Lawyers Association.
